“For the sake of both our ends, I would hope that desperation’s wonders never cease.”

Spanner lets his hand drop and favors the illusionist with a patented unassuming gaze, his head cocked to the side as he observed him.

“Your definition of ‘bad’ and my approximation of it may be lacking. Do I get the chance to ascertain the quality of this deal before payment is made?”

“Be careful what you hope for.” He said simply.

He nods in affirmation. “Of course. You get to ‘boss me around’ for the time being, see the project through; if you knew me any better, you’d think me a perfectionist.” The deal was made without the lack of ulterior motives however, though it was an exceptional one that could just as well be beneficial. Mukuro scoffed at the thought that followed. “Killing children won’t be worth the effort.”

-supana:

“Who said that was the bargaining chip this time?” Spanner coolly replies, meeting Mukuro’s considering gaze and holding it as best as he could. He comes to consider the nature of their strange acquaintanceship, and thinks that he could hardly come up with a better term for it than that.

“Even hell has its peculiar laws,” Spanner muses, and holds out a hand.

“You’ve yourself a deal, Mukuro Rokudo.”

“Some devils can get a little drawn to the best thing up for exchange, I should think.” He informed, insouciant mismatched eyes holding green. “Desperation does wonders.”

A triumphant look crossed Mukuro’s face as he eyed Spanner’s hand, waiting to be shook. “Oya, but I’m everything peculiar, and more.” With a firm grip, Mukuro took the mechanic’s hand, shook it once and let go.

“And a deal it shall be. That wasn’t so bad now, was it? Kufufu.”

-supana:

“Dealing with the devil, now am I?”

Spanner stands and dusts himself off, holding the blue print on one side and considering the merits of entering into business with an illusionist with hardly any loyalties. If they were more similarly inclined, Spanner thinks he and Mukuro would have made good partners.

Would that thought prove to be reality, this time?

“And what would you take for this endeavor?”

A chuckle escaped from him, amused. “Charmed. But, I’ve no need for your soul, mechanic.”

Mukuro walked a few steps, forward, assessing Spanner’s expression and the thrilling air of tension that seemingly hung above them. Mind games were always a fond thing to be had, at times. “It can be… negotiated. In due time.” He smiled, not so much mocking as it was encouraging. “So, what say you?”

-supana:

“Mm. And you’re proposing to make my park a reality with your abilities?”

Spanner straightens up and gives the illusionist a guileless once-over. That Mukuro would be proposing such a thing, Spanner had not thought of. While he’d not been surprised at his sudden appearance, there was much to be said for Mukuro’s actions.

“Can you really?” He asks with a coy raise of his eyebrow.

“You finally caught up.” The illusionist slipped off his gloves and stored them back in his pocket. “That’s the idea.”

“Yes, I can.” Arms crossed as Mukuro rested his back against the nearby wall, heterocromatic eyes matching the mechanic’s focused stare. “For a price, of course.”

-supana:

Spanner eyes the mini-Mosca conjured from nothing, and reaches out to tap his fingers on the top plate, to find that it sprang up and showed him the command system he’d intended to be there. That had been a private design.

“You just conjured a mini-Mosca. Just that. You’d be able to do that even without the Arcobaleno’s help, I don’t see what I should be impressed with.”

He favors the illusionist with a look that is true to his word, and nothing more.

“Need I repeat myself?” He sighed, almost apologetic that the mechanic failed to grasp the idea. “Verde’s innovation seeks to make my illusions real.”

“There is a difference,” he began, “Between illusions I make to be real and illusions I conjure with the use of the gloves. With the latter, the illusions materialize from my abilities; I don’t have to make the effort to maintain them because they stay. If I concentrate enough, they will stay. Permanently.”

-supana:

“It was a whim,” Spanner admits helplessly with a wave of his hand.

He glances at Mukuro at the illusionist’s admission. And then, snorts.

“They wouldn’t enjoy such an illusion, Mukuro Rokudo.”

“I imagined you weren’t the type to start something ‘on a whim’…” He raised his brows and made another nonchalant shrug. “I stand corrected.”

“Oya, you find it unbelievable?” Mukuro’s smile widened into a smug smirk as he stood up again and pulled on another set of gloves, one more fitting for the oncoming task. “You forget that I have the Arcobaleno Verde in my allegiance and has provided me adequacy for the tournament.”

With a snap of his fingers, he conjures a fully functioning mini-Mosca, a replica of Spanner’s very own. “With this, it won’t be just an illusion, mechanic.”

frantasmal:

abscondere started following you

Fran didn’t bother to look up from the book that he was reading as he sat down on the floor. Instead, he was quiet, simply reading and ignoring Mukuro’s presence. It wasn’t an unusual thing, not when he was with Mukuro in the Kokuyo building that they resided it.

“Master, even if I’m used to it, it makes me uncomfortable when you stand there looming over me like that,” he said eventually. He turned another page in his book, showing his apparent disinterest in the conversation regardless of what he said.

“Actually, it is very strange that Master is standing here, like he was following me,” he added.

“Don’t flatter yourself, little one.” Mukuro said, in a tone one wouldn’t think was quite strained of attempted civility, and not even granting Fran so much as a single glance, “Even I wouldn’t stand this close to you if I had a choice.”

“The Vendice are a concerning matter, however.” He continued, low and serious, “Verde and I, we can’t risk you and your watch.”

Spanner snorts- “And when I have been so giving?”

He watches as Mukuro’s hand comes upon the blueprint, and admits, after a moment, “It’s for Fuuta, and Enma. And Vongola, if he wants to come. His guardians, too.”

Reaching out with a hand, he flattens out the edge of the blueprint.

“I can’t make it in less than a month, though.”

He responds with a slight shrug of indifference.

“Ah.” The Vongola children, naturally. He’s seen how the mechanic doted on them, and this was just one of his own unique ways. “Seems as if you lacked time management and preparation with this one.”

A satisfied smile camped on his lips as he gave Spanner a sidelong glance, an idea brewing. “Well, I can.”

-supana:

Leaning back on his hands, Spanner toes the blueprint dejectedly, causing it to unfurl further and reveal the past-planned amusement park in all its sketchy glory.

“Time, I suppose. And lack of resources. But my ability should overcome that- but it doesn’t, so there you have the formula to rendering me actless.”

Spanner sighs, and continues, “Then again, I’ve never thought that I would look to make a functioning amusement park.”

A snort. “For what reason? I don’t suppose you meant to spread joy and pathetic rainbows and make every child in the world happy.”

The illusionist crouched to get a better look at the blueprints, eying them with keenness. “Though—” He muttered low, a gloved hand tracing the careful patterns on the paper, “…this does pose a very interesting challenge. Pity you’ve become so defeated.”
